The iconic BMW i3 is the world’s first vehicle to be powered by an electric drive system, and is set to improve further by introducing a 94Ah battery. This will provide the model with a 33kWh capacity, a range of 195 miles and zero to 62mph in 7.3 seconds.

BMW will bring out their instantly recognisable colour ‘Protonic Blue’ with Frozen Grey metallic highlight, previously only reserved for the i8 hybrid sports car but now available exclusively for this model.

“The BMW i3 94Ah replaces the current 60Ah model and has a capacity of 33kWh thanks to the higher storage density of the lithium ion cells. The battery dimensions remain unchanged with more than a 50 per cent range increase in the standard NEDC cycle; this equals a range of 195 miles.”

The new model, which will be available to buy July 2016, includes DC rapid charge now as standard, and will get you from 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds.

Within the new BMW i3 you will find the latest in innovative battery technology, meaning its capacity has increased significantly without a single change in structure or physical size. “The battery has been designed to last for the car’s entire service life. Customers receive an 8-year or 100,000 mile warranty on the battery.”
