New 2017 BMW 5 Series official photos finally revealed!14/10/2016
After leaking two short teaser videos earlier this week, BMW has finally revealed the brand new 2017 5 Series. The highly anticipated seventh-generation BMW 5 Series will be the first semi-automated vehicle in the BMW range. Among the driving functions available are the hands-off function which means the “new saloon will follow the car in front in traffic”.
Due to resounding success from the latest BMW 7 series and customer feedback, Johann Kistler (BMW project director) announced that the aesthetics are to remain “familiar”. Therefore the design remains recognisable, adapting a “subtly sharper form”, with “tauter surfacing” and “more finely honed crease lines along the flanks” than the old 5 Series.
The new BMW 5 Series has grown in size slightly. Thanks to these increases the new 5 Series interior space is much improved with “notably rear leg, shoulder, head and boot room”. Therefore there is sufficient space for five adults rather comfortably.
Other improvements include a turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine, new updates to suspension, the ability to communicate with other BMWs via a “car-to-x communication system” and the option of BMW’s active four-wheel steering system combined with xDrive four-wheel drive.
